How to Remove the Door Lock Assembly from a Frigidaire Washing Machine

Frigidaire front-loading washing machines have a door lock assembly that ensures that the door cannot be opened during the operation of the appliance. The door lock assembly also detects the presence of the door latch, preventing the washing machine from starting if the door is not closed. Occasionally, the sensor in the door lock will malfunction, and the washer will detect that the door is open, when it is in fact closed. When this happens, the wash cycle will not start, leaving the appliance inoperable until the door lock assembly is removed and replaced. Before installing a new door lock assembly, you must remove the old one, which is a quick do-it-yourself project. Does this Spark an idea?
