How to Get Animals on "Final Fantasy X"
"Final Fantasy X" has a series of riding animals known as "Chocobos." To acquire the Chocobo riding ability and ride Chocobos you find throughout the game, you'll need to locate the Chocobo Rider. Once you know how to ride a Chocobo, you'll benefit from increased movement speed while riding your animal, as well as the ability to participate in Chocobo races.

Play through the game until you progress to an area called "The Calm Lands," which will be displayed clearly on your screen as you enter the region.

Search the area for a female character called the "Chocobo Rider." If she is not there, exit to the previous region and then return.

Walk up to the trainer and press the "Action" button. She will teach you to ride a Chocobo.

Locate a Chocobo. These creatures are large yellow birds that appear throughout the game world. Press the "Action" button to acquire the creature.
