How to Make the Tempo Slower in "GarageBand"
"GarageBand" is entry level audio software for Apple computers. You can mix, manipulate and fine-tune music samples, both of your own creation and from outside sources. One way in which you can manipulate your samples is by changing the song's tempo. By increasing the tempo, the song will play faster and at a higher pitch, while decreasing the tempo slows the music and lowers the pitch. With the default controls, your can lower the tempo to as little as 40 beats per minute (BPM).

Tips & Warnings
"GarageBand" changes the tempo in six-beat increments. If you want more fine-tuned control, hold down the "Shift" key while you drag the tempo around. It will then increase and decrease in one-beat increments.
