How to Remove Dried Elmer's Glue From Chair Cushions

Elmer's Glue will not do any permanent damage to your chair cushions.

Elmer's Glue has a wide assortment of practical uses in the home, but it can get messy and wind up drying in places where it does not belong, such as on your couch and chair cushions. Fortunately, Elmer's Glue is washable and does not contain any chemicals that will affect the color of your chair cushions. In addition, it won't leave a stain behind after you remove the glue.

Things You'll Need

• 2 washcloths

Instructions

1. Soak a washcloth in warm water, and place it over the glue spot on your chair cushion.

2. Leave it to sit for hours. This will allow time for the dried glue to soften.

3. Remove the wet washcloth from the softened glue, and use a clean, dry cloth to wipe the glue off your chair cushion. Repeat this process until you completely remove the glue from the cushion.

Tips & Warnings

• If you have removable chair cushion covers, soak them in warm water for 24 hours, and then wash them in your washing machine to remove Elmer's Glue. Repeat washing and drying until the glue stain is gone.

• Never attempt to heat up or iron a glue stain, as heat can cause the glue to fuse with the fabric and become impossible to remove.
