Sewing a Simple Head Scarf
Head scarves keep the head protected from rain, sun and wind. They also accessorize outfits. Head scarves can be worn as part of a costume or as an everyday covering for the hair. You can sew your own head scarf using fabrics in colors and prints of your own choosing, allowing you to freely express your fashion sense and creativity. This adult triangular head scarf pattern utilizes bias tape as a tie for the rest of the scarf, which minimizes sewing and eliminates the need for hems.
Instructions

1
Use a ruler and pencil to measure two triangles on the fabric. Each triangle should be a right triangle, with the short edges measuring 32 inches and the long edge measuring 45 1/4 inches.
-
2
Cut the traced triangles out with scissors.
-
-
3
Hold the triangles together with the printed sides facing each other, and the sides lined up evenly.
-
4
Sew along the short edges of the held-together triangle with your sewing machine.
-
5
Turn the triangle right-side out.
-
6
Cut a piece of bias tape that measures the length of the long edge of the head scarf. Position the tape directly on top of the long edge. Sew a straight line across the bias tape to secure it in place.
