Little girls can dress up like flappers, too.

Let a little girl be the bee's knees this Halloween with a swell flapper costume. Inspired by the stylish fashion of the roaring '20s, a flapper costume promises to be a flashy and fun costume with plenty of beads, fringe and feather for the little girl to love. Rather than spending tons of money on a store-bought '20's garb, it's easy to transform an ordinary frock into a flapper outfit that's perfect for doing the Charleston in.

Instructions

    • 1

Transform a simple frock-style dress into one fit for a flapper with some fringe. Add a few layers of fringe to the bottom of the dress or add fringe down the entire length. Measure and cut several lengths of fringe that are long enough to go around the dress. Pin the fringe to the dress and sew it in place with a needle and thread.

    • 2

Put white tights and patent leather buckle shoes on the girl.

    • 3

Create a headpiece by hot gluing a large decorative feather to a stretchy fabric headband. Place the headband on the girl's head, across her forehead.

    • 4

Put on some costume jewelry. Throw long strands of faux pearls or other beads around the girl's neck.
