How to Make a Rehearsal Dinner Bouquet out of Ribbons

How to Make a Rehearsal Dinner Bouquet out of Ribbons thumbnail
The bride's rehearsal bouquet is usually very colorful.

A ribbon bouquet is technically used at the wedding rehearsal, though the bride can certainly carry it through the rehearsal dinner as well. A bouquet is made from the ribbons on presents at the bride’s wedding showers as a way to incorporate the friends and family of the bride into a part of the wedding. Assign a bridesmaid to make the bouquet during the shower and bring it to the bride for the rehearsal dinner.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Cut a hole in the center of the paper plate with the utility knife. The hole should be about 1 inch in diameter.

    • 2

Turn the plate so the bottom is facing up.

    • 3

Bring a ribbon through the hole in the plate. A little more than half of the ribbon should be on top and less than half on the bottom.

    • 4

Pull the top half over the edge of the plate and tie it to the other end with a knot. The knot should be under the plate, not against the side.

    • 5

Continue tying ribbons around the plate, until the plate is covered.

    • 6

Loop additional ribbons through the ribbons on the plate. Tie these into bows to keep making the bouquet.

    • 7

Gather the ribbons on the underside of the plate together. Tie a final ribbon around them in a bow so the bride can carry her bouquet.

Tips & Warnings

  • Save green ribbons to tie around the ribbons under the plate to create a “stem” for the bouquet.
