1
Create a slipknot and leave a tail of six inches or more to weave in later.
-
2
Insert your crochet hook into the slipknot and create a chain. Hold the hook in your right hand and the yarn in your left. Bring the hook under the yarn from front to back.
-
-
3
Grab the yarn with the hook and pull it through the slipknot. This is one chain stitch. Continue forming chain stitches until you have 32 altogether.
-
4
Begin crocheting into these chain stitches. Yarn over your hook by bringing the hook under the yarn from front to back. Insert your crochet hook into the fourth chain stitch from your hook.
-
5
Double crochet into this stitch. Yarn over again and pull through the first loop. You now have three loops on your hook.
-
6
Yarn over again and pull through two loops. You now have two loops on your hook.
-
7
Yarn over again and pull through two loops, leaving you with one loop on your hook. This is one double crochet.
-
8
Double crochet into the rest of the chain stitches across the first row.
-
9
Turn your work. Chain three stitches and double crochet into each double crochet across the row.
-
10
Repeat Step 9 until your washcloth is the desired length.
-
11
Cut your yarn. Pull the end of the yarn through your loop and tighten. Weave in ends.
