How to Create a Radio Button on Lotus Notes

Radio buttons are an ideal graphical user selection element to add when designing interactive forms that require selecting between predefined options. Lotus Notes features the ability to include radio buttons as well as other user selection elements on forms designed using the program. Adding this graphical user selection element on a Lotus Notes form is relatively straightforward, taking only a few minutes to complete.

Instructions

    • 1

Click “Radio Button” in the “Core Controls” group located under the “Controls” tab. To create a group of radio buttons, click “Other” to open the “Create Controls” dialog box, select “Radio Button Group” from the list of available controls and then click “OK.”

    • 2

Click the radio button controls on the “Properties” tab. Type the name of the radio button and the desired label in the appropriate fields. To include the element in an existing group of radio buttons, enter the name of the radio button group under “Radio Group Name” in “Options.”

    • 3

Click the “Style” controls on the “Properties” tab to control the font, background and margins of the radio button. Click “OK” when finished.

Tips & Warnings

  • Include two or more radio buttons on a form, as users cannot remove the radio button selection the same way as removing a check mark from a box. For example, include an option of “None” in such cases.
