How to Attach Gems to a Wedding Veil
Wedding veils are one of the most overpriced items that brides buy when preparing for the special day, according to WedNet. The wispy piece of white fabric can cost $100 to $500. Price-conscious brides can buy a plain veil and attach their own gems to make the headpiece more decorative. Iron the veil using the lowest possible heat setting, or steam the fabric with a steamer.

Lay the veil on a flat work surface covered in wax paper.

Select the gems that you would like to add. Place them on the veil.

Mark the positions of the gems with a fine-tipped fabric pen and remove the gems.

Apply small dots of fabric glue to the marks you designated with the fabric pen.

Hold each gem on the drop of fabric glue for 15 to 20 seconds, or as directed on the fabric glue instructions.

Allow the gems at least one hour to completely dry before moving the veil.

Tips & Warnings
If you don’t have a steamer, you can hang the veil in the bathroom with a hot shower running.
Lace and tulle can melt if you iron them on a high-heat setting.
Wash the veil prior to adhering the gems, if a wash is required.
