DIY Candle Wreaths
No matter the occasion, candles add ambiance to a room. A candle however, could use a little decoration itself, especially when it is used as a centerpiece on a table. Use DIY candle wreaths to jazz up a candle for decoration or to give as gifts to friends and family during the holiday season. Use a basic technique and change out materials with seasonal items or different colors to make it match the person or event it is for.

1
Lay the 4-inch wreath on a solid work surface. Floral foam wreaths are tubular in shape and are found at craft stores in the floral decorating section.
-
2
Cut faux flowers down using the wire cutters, leaving ½-inch of the stem on each flower. Fake flowers are also found at craft stores in the floral decorating section.
-
-
3
Place the votive candle holder inside the foam wreath. Make sure there is at least ¼-inch between the edge of the candle holder and the rim of the wreath for flowers.
-
4
Plug in the hot glue gun and preheat on the lowest setting possible to prevent burns to the foam.
-
5
Glue the largest flowers to the wreath first by placing a dab of hot glue on the stem and pushing the stem into the floral foam. Make sure the stem does not break through the opposite side of the wreath form. Repeat the process using the smaller-sized flowers around the wreath form. Do not worry about open spaces or gaps at this time.
-
6
Place small dabs of hot glue onto the stems of faux greenery and press the greenery into any open gaps between the flowers or votive holder. Use any type of faux greenery that matches the flowers, such as rose leaves for roses, and moss, ferns or baby’s breath. Continue to place greenery into the wreath until all of the gaps are completely hidden.

7
Tie a small bow using matching ribbon and glue the bow to the front of the wreath using a small amount of hot glue. Add an additional touch by applying glitter spray over the wreath. Glitter spray is found in the spray paint section of the craft store and comes in a variety of colors. Allow the entire wreath to dry for at least an hour before use.
