How to Decoupage a Map to a Wood Tray
Decoupage is the art of applying paper decorations to a surface using a glue that dries clear. It adds unexpected splashes of color to your belongings without affecting the shape of the object or the space that the object takes off. You can decoupage using any type of paper, and a map can give an otherwise plain wooden tray an attractive nautical detail. Decoupage a map to the interior of a tray and set the tray up as a decorative object.

Tips & Warnings
Cover both the front and back of the tray for a more even look.
Apply the decoupage medium using strokes traveling in different directions with each layer. This prevents visible brush strokes.
For an antique look, choose a decoupage medium designed to dry to a yellowish finish, rather than a perfectly clear finish.
