How to Make Glass Frosting With Epsom Salts & Beer
Frosting glass windows brings a feeling of holiday cheer to your home, especially if you are entertaining guests. Instead of using a frosting spray, which contains dangerous and flammable ingredients and gives an artificial appearance, you can use natural, safe Epsom salts and beer to frost your windows. It is very simple to mix Epsom salts, which are commonly available at any pharmacy, with beer and then to apply the mixture to your windows to create a frosted look. Even children can enjoy using this mixture to help decorate your windows for the winter holidays or for a theme party. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Pour a cup of beer into your mixing bowl. Add the 4 tablespoons of Epsom salts one after another. Wait a half-hour for the foam to dissipate and the Epsom salts to dissolve. Disregard any crystals of Epsom salts that may remain at the bottom of your bowl.

2
Lay any design stencils you want to use flat against the window glass so the back of the stencil faces you. Either have someone such as your child hold the stencil for you or tape it to the window with masking tape.

Saturate a clean terry-cloth rag with the Epsom salts and beer mixture. Dab it over the stencil design, or create freestyle shapes by wiping the rag over your window panes as if you were washing your windows. Dab at your freestyle crystal creations with the damp rag while the window is still wet to create a more realistic look.

4
Allow the frosting to dry overnight. Use a damp rag to remove excess crystals or to draw pictures and patterns on the frosted surface.

5
Repeat all steps to cover as many windows as you wish to frost. Wash your windows with warm water to remove the mixture after the holidays and follow up with your regular window cleaner to remove any streaks.
