How to Make a Large Velcro Tabletop Display
Tabletop displays are often used for presentations or advertisements. They are commonly seen at business expos or science fairs. However, some of these displays are tall and come in a variety of pieces. This can make them unstable or difficult to travel with. Therefore, you may want a method of securing the pieces that is not permanent, so that it can be moved from place to place or even easily disassembled for easier travel. For this reason, Velcro is a smart option.

Securing to the Tabletop

Secure the tabletop display to the flat surface on which it will sit. Apply Velcro to the bottom of the display pieces. Trim pieces of Velcro to sizes that will fit the bottom of the display with scissors. Peel of the backing from the self-adhesive Velcro.

Press the sticky back of the Velcro to the bottom of the display pieces. Use the plastic hook side of the Velcro on the display. This side of the Velcro will adhere to a fabric surface.

Add the soft side of the Velcro to the surface on which the display sits if there if it is not a fabric surface. The adhesive on self-adhesive Velcro can be removed from a surface easily, and any residue can be washed away with soap and water.
Connect Pieces of the Display

Apply self-adhesive Velcro to each piece of the display if it has multiple pieces and needs to be disassembled and reassembled for travel purposes. Trim pieces of Velcro to span the attachment points between each piece. Peel off the backing from each piece of Velcro.

Press the adhesive back of each Velcro piece to an attachment point between the display portions. Put the hook side of the Velcro on one side of the attachment and the soft side on the other side of the attachment.

Assemble the display pieces by pressing together the hooked and the soft pieces of Velcro to one another.

Disassemble the display by pulling apart the Velcro at the attachment points.
