1
Gather your collection of antique crock pitchers on a table or counter where you can look at it carefully, determine how many pieces you own and decide how you want to display them. It is not necessary to own an extensive collection to display it as even one or two pieces can occupy places of honor on a shelf.
-
2
Determine whether you wish to display the antique pitchers alone on the shelf or whether you want to intersperse other items along with the pitchers. For example, add items of similar shape and color or add items in a variety of other materials such as baskets, Depression glass or stacks of books. Drape a homespun fabric napkin over the corner of the shelf to add texture and color, if desired.

3
Place the crock pitchers onto the shelf, separating each pitcher by at least 6 inches for the greatest impact. By allowing this space between the pitchers, you enable people to notice and appreciate the variations in shape and design of each piece, according to Marie Proeller Hueston, author of “Country Living Collection Style.” Vary the direction of placement for the pitchers, placing some straight and others at an angle for the most pleasing arrangement. Leave additional space between the pitchers if you are adding other items.

4
Add the other items to the shelf, if desired. Keep the spacing of each item at about 6 inches.
-
5
Stand back and assess the display. Walk around the room to look at it from all angles and distances. Make adjustments to the crock pitchers and other items, if necessary.
