1
Spray the face of the mirror with glass cleaner. Wipe the mirror with a soft, dry cloth, removing all streaks, dust and fingerprints. A clean mirror will allow the glue and gems to stick properly.
-
2
Decide on a pattern and layout for the gems. Create a border around the sides of the mirror, or just cover the top and bottom or each side. Layout the gems for the border to create a striped or polka dot pattern. Instead of a border, you may want to arrange the gems to create different sized polka dots or shapes, or even spell out words. Draw or sketch your layout on a piece of paper.

3
Use tweezers to pick up the first gem. Start in one of the corners when creating a border or line along the edge of the mirror. Begin with the gem closest to the center when creating a polka dot or shape When forming a word, create the middle letter of the word first, centering the letter into the desired area. This will ensure that any pattern will be straight and spaced evenly.
-
4
Put a small amount of hot glue on the back center of the gem. Do not put so much glue that when the gem is pushed flat, the glue comes out from under the sides of the gem.
-
5
Place the gem in the correct position on the mirror. Release the gem from the tweezers and adjust the position of the gem, if necessary. Push the gem into place with the tweezers, firmly attaching it to the face of the mirror.
-
6
Attach the second gem into place. The placement of the second and subsequent gems depends on the desired pattern. After the first gem is placed to create a border, continue working in a single row. Create as many rows as desired to complete the border. Ensure that your polka dot or other shape is spaced evenly by working out from the center gem on each side.
-
7
Continue adding gems to complete your design. Give the glue a few minutes to dry in between rows or bunches of gems if they are closely spaced together. This will ensure that you don’t accidentally move an already placed gem. Allow your finished bedazzled mirror to fully dry before framing or hanging.
