How to Crochet Ribbing
Making ribbing in a knitting project is common and usually easily completed. When it comes to crocheting, the idea of making ribbing is slightly less common. By simply using the half double crochet stitch, you can add ribbing to all your crochet projects.

Chain as many stitches as necessary for your project.

Complete row one by half double crochet stitching in each stitch. Chain one and turn.

Complete row two by half double crochet stitching in the back loop of each stitch.The loop is located below the gap where the hook would usually enter. Chain one and turn. Repeat this process until the piece reaches your desired length.
