1
Purchase a selection of wooden cut out shapes such as stars, circles and hearts. Sometimes you can find specific Christmas themed shapes like trees and Santas as well.
-
2
Create Christmas ornaments by joining various wooden shapes. For instance, use a heart for a reindeer face with two upside down hearts as antlers. Three circles of graduated sizes can form a snowman.

3
Provide preschoolers with paint to decorate the wooden shape. A thicker paintbrush works best with bigger areas to paint, while a finer tip is best for details.
-
4
Glue a loop of ribbon to the back of the ornament in order to hang it.
-
5
Finish the ornament with a coat of glue painted over the entire surface.
-
6
Sprinkle a light dusting of glitter over the surface of the ornament while the glue is still wet for a sparkly effect.
