How to Cut Fabric to Make a Fleece Shawl
Wearing a jacket is not the only way to keep warm. Many people choose to keep themselves warm with a more old-fashioned yet still stylish shawl. Luckily, making a shawl from a piece of fleece is a simple project that takes just a little time. Lay the fleece on a flat surface, making sure that it is completely flat. Be sure that the stretch of the fleece runs along the length of the shawl.

With a ruler, measure the fabric so that it is 18-by-60 inches.

Cut along the measured area with a pair of sharp pinking sheers. Be sure to cut the selvage from the edge of the fleece.

Cut six inches into the fleece every 1/2 inch to create fringe.
