MSC mode allows you to drag and drop music, videos and photos to and from your MP3 player.

Several MP3 players use third-party software to transfer songs, videos and photos to and from the player. However, some can function like portable hard drives such as flash drives. When your MP3 player is set to MSC mode, you can drag and drop content without the aid of additional software. MSC mode, also known as USB Mass Storage mode, is a default setting on some players; however, for others, you have to enable this feature manually.
