Gala Search is a virus that affects Windows users, causing all Internet searches through all search engines to be redirected to the Gala website. The Gala website is filled with spam and ads intended for you to click on them and generate ad revenue for the virus creator. Windows comes installed with a program called Windows Defender that scans your computer for harmful files, like the Gala Search Virus, and removes them.

Instructions

1. Exit out of any open Web browsers.

2. Click the Windows orb located at the bottom-left of your screen, or the start button. The Start menu launches.

3. Type “Windows Defender” in the Search box located at the bottom of the Start menu. The Windows Defender program launches.

4. Click “Scan” from the top menu, then select “Full Scan.” Windows Defender scans your entire hard drive for the Gala Virus. The files are quarantined and automatically removed.

5. Click the “X” located in the upper-right corner of the Windows Defender program to close the application after the Gala Virus has been removed.
