Charms
-
1
Bend thin wire around a circular object, such as a wooden dowel, that's at least 1/2 inch in diameter. Create a loop with the wire that can slip around the wine glass stem or purchase little rings that fit around the stems.
-
2
String beads, stones, buttons or charms on the wire ring. Use a different color scheme or different charms for each glass. For example, a silver cat, dog, frog and dolphin could make up a set of four wine glass charms. Add multiple charms to get the look you want.

-
3
Snip the wire above the last bead or charm and twist it so the charms won't fall off. Close it off by applying a little bit of pressure with pliers.
-
4
Slip the individual rings of charms around the stems of clean wine glasses before the event.
Flowers
-
5
Wrap small strands of silk flowers or artificial grape vines around floral wire if the vines aren't strong enough to use as a base. Use a dab of glue to hold the flowers in place if you desire. Slip the flower-covered ring over the stem.
-
6
Twist the flowers around the stem of the wine glass without using a ring if they have a thick, sturdy base. Secure the flowers to the glass by using a small dot of glue at the beginning and end of the flower arrangement. Avoid covering the entire stem with flowers if you plan on using them for drinking, as it could make it harder to grip the glass. Leave an opening between the flowers on the stem.
-
7
Tie a ribbon around the stem if you want further decoration. Use a different colored ribbon or glue a different colored flower to the center of the ribbon.
