A facial mask can improve your skin and perhaps even your state of mind because of its relaxation factor. Variations on a honey and avocado face mask will treat dry skin or aging skin and exfoliate dead skin cells. Avocados are moisturizing, but the vitamin K in the avocado also tones skin, reducing dark circles and rosacea spots. Several B vitamins that are in avocados are beneficial to relieving stress. The simple act of taking the time to sit and relax as the mask is absorbed will ease stress as well. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Avocado
  • Bowl
  • Egg yolk
  • Olive oil
  • Dark honey
  • Spoon
  • Towel
  • Carrots
  • Small pot
  • Heavy cream
  • Egg
  • Almonds
  • Food processor

Instructions

  1. Dry Skin

    • 1

      Mash 1 avocado in a bowl.

    • 2

      Stir in 1 egg yolk, 1 ½ teaspoons olive oil and 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon of dark honey with the mashed avocado.

      Apply the mask to your face and neck. Leave it on for 25 minutes while you lie down and relax.

      Rinse the mask off and dry your face with a towel.

    Aging Skin

      Boil 1 ½ chopped carrots in a small pot until soft.

      Mash the carrots and half of an avocado in a bowl. Stir in 2 ½ tablespoons honey, 1 ½ tablespoons heavy cream and 1 egg. Mix the ingredients thoroughly.

      Gently smooth the mask over your face.

      Let the mask sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it off and patting your skin dry.

    Exfoliating Mask

      Crush 4 almonds in a food processor into very fine pieces.

      Mash half of an avocado and mix with 2 teaspoons dark honey and the crushed almonds.

      Massage the facial mask into your skin. Rub a bit to exfoliate away dead skin.

      Allow the mask to sit for 20 minutes, then rinse it off. Dry your face and finish by applying a moisturizer.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a ripe avocado. The color should be a brownish-green, for best results.

  • Heat the honey for five to 10 seconds in the microwave so that it will mix more easily with the other ingredients.

  • Don’t rub the mask off. Gently rinse it away with warm water and pat your face dry to prevent skin irritation.

  • Keep the mask away from the eye area, as this region is sensitive.
