Make sure that power is being supplied to the boiler. Check for any tripped breakers, which you should reset in order to provide household power to the unit again.

Press the reset button on the burner if the fault-indicator lamp on it comes on.

Ensure that the room thermostat is set high enough for the boiler to activate. If the thermostat is not set to a sufficiently high temperature, the burner will not ignite. This may be mistaken for a more serious issue.

Perform some switch checks. Make sure that all burner emergency switches are in the "On" position and check that the boiler manual safety switch is in place.
