1
Gather and organize the materials you need including the candy jars, lids, fabric, stencils, paint markers, glue, scissors and other decorative items such as stamps and stickers.
-
2
Cut circles of fabric, using pinking shears, that are larger than each one of the jar lids you are decorating. Place fabric over the jar lids to create an outline of where to cut, leaving an additional 1 to 2 inches of extra fabric hanging over the top of the jar.

3
Glue the cut-out fabric circles (with the side including the outline) to the tops of each one of your candy jar lids. Press down on the fabric and lid to secure it into place and allow it to dry before adding additional decorations and designs to the lid.
-
4
Create hearts and miniature candy designs on the fabric lids, using stencils and fabric paint in bright and contrasting colors to draw attention to the candy jars.
-
5
Punch holes in various spots near the edges of the fabric lid (without creating holes directly on the edge of the fabric). Insert and tie various matching colorful strings of ribbon into bows.
