1
Cut out two large rectangles of one color (this will be the outside of your needle holder); one small rectangle of a second color (inside of the needle holder); and one bird from a template (in a contrasting color).
-
2
Sew a small button or bead onto the bird to create an eye.
-
-
3
Place one large rectangle on a flat surface and place the bird on the right half.
-
4
Sew around the edges of the bird to attach it to the large rectangle.
-
5
Place the plain large rectangle under the large rectangle with the bird and sew around the edges to attach them together.
-
6
Flip the large rectangles upside-down, so the bird isn't visible. Place the small rectangle on the large rectangles.
-
7
Stitch the rectangles together straight down the center.
-
8
Fold the rectangles along the center stitching and place needles on the inside of the needle holder.
