How to Hang Draping in a Banquet Hall
Many banquet halls are rather boring upon first inspection and require some decorating to make them special enough for a celebration. Draping fabric against the walls or throughout the room is an excellent way to divert the eye from plain walls, and it also makes the space softer. Choose fabric such as tulle for an easy and lightweight draping installation. If you need a heavier fabric, you will need to install removable ceiling hooks to make it work. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Measure the length and width of the areas that need draping with the measuring tape. Write this down. Purchase fabric that is the correct length and a few feet wider than the width so that it can be bunched slightly when hanging.
-
2
Place removable hooks onto the ceiling where the fabric will be draped by climbing on a ladder. Hooks that stick to the ceiling work well because they leave no marks when they are removed. There should be a hook every few feet for best results and secure fabric.

3
Cut pieces of fishing line and poke it through the top of the fabric where it will hang from the hooks. Tie the fabric to the hooks with the fishing line, hiding the hooks as much as possible. Cut off any loose ends of the fishing line.
-
4
Spread the fabric across the wall leaving a bit of excess so that it appears slightly wavy and slightly bunched together. This creates an ethereal and flowing texture that is visually pleasing.
-
5
Place hooks on the ceiling in other places throughout the room where fabric is desired and repeat the steps with the fishing line.
