Cut a 10-by-12-inch square of the silk fabric, adjusting it according to preference. If your hair is longer, you may want to opt for a larger square of fabric.

Pin 1/4-inch of the fabric back on all four sides using the sewing pins. Use as few pins as possible to avoid puncturing or damaging the fabric.

Adjust your sewing machine for silk fabric or hand sew the hemline, staying as close to the pins as possible. Remove the pins as you proceed.

Try the silk on and tie it to your style preference. Make the necessary adjustments to size if needed.

Tips & Warnings
Start with a larger square of fabric and try it on. If you're not satisfied with the size, cut it accordingly. You can always make the scarf smaller.
The least difficult way to tie the scarf is to fold it in half, corner to corner, so it is a triangle shape. You can also fold the scarf end to end, so it is a narrow rectangle. Tie it around your head, creating a headband look.
