How to Clean an Engraved Bronze Plaque

Things You'll Need
- Bucket
- Water
- Mild detergent
- 3 lint-free cloths
- Soft toothbrush
- Spray bottle
- Clear paste wax
- 1-inch-wide paintbrush
- Clean shoe brush

Fill a bucket with warm water. Add 1/4 cup mild detergent.

Use the solution and a lint-free cloth to scrub the plaque gently, removing the surface dirt and grime. Dip a soft toothbrush into the mixture, and use it to scrub the engraving.

Rinse the plaque with clean water from a spray bottle. Wipe it to remove all soap residue. Dry the plaque with another lint-free cloth, or allow it to air-dry.

Dip a lint-free cloth into clear paste wax, and apply a light coat of wax to the surface of the plaque. Use a paintbrush to get around the nooks and crannies of the letters, if necessary.

Buff the plaque with a clean shoe brush.
