Instructions

    • 1

Plug the GE refrigerator power cord firmly into the power outlet if the refrigerator is not cooling and none of the lights are working. Replace or reset the circuit breaker or fuse as necessary.

    • 2

Turn the refrigerator and freezer controls past the “0” mark if the unit is not cooling but has power. Adjust the controls to a higher or lower setting if the refrigerator seems too cold or too warm and shut the doors as much as possible for the next 24 hours to let the temperature change.

    • 3

Open the front access panel by pulling the panel up and out if the refrigerator moves or vibrates during use. Use a screwdriver to turn the roller adjusting screws clockwise to raise the refrigerator up or counterclockwise to lower the rollers. When properly adjusted, the doors should close on their own past a 45-degree angle. Tilt the top of the panel and insert into the clips on the refrigerator, and then rotate the bottom of the panel toward the refrigerator until it clips into position.

    • 4

Clean the door gasket to remove obstructing debris if the motor is running excessively or the refrigerator is too warm despite being set to a cold temperature. Push all items away from the door opening to prevent obstructions and remember that the motor will run more when the weather is hot or humid.

    • 5

Pull food items away from the vents near the controls inside the refrigerator if food is freezing and the temperature controls are not set to an extremely cold temperature.

    • 6

Close the door firmly if frost develops on food items in the refrigerator and limit the number of times the door is opened.

    • 7

Clean out the refrigerator and freezer compartments with baking soda and water if the appliance smells bad. Remember to wrap all food snugly and keep an open box of baking soda inside to reduce odor transfer. Empty out the current batch of ice in the ice bin and wash it out to remove smells in the ice as well.

    • 8

Set the ice maker switch to “I” if not working and wait 24 hours for ice to begin production. Note that ice cubes that pile up in the top of the ice bin can force the ice maker to automatically shut off. Level the ice cubes with fingers or remove several cubes from the top. Remove any stuck ice cubes if the green light is blinking.
