How to Make Fabric Wall Decor for Baby
When a new baby is on the way, it is time to prepare the nursery. There are many ways you can select a theme for the baby’s decorations. You can choose a color palette, a fabric to complement, or an animal theme. Many people choose the baby’s bedding first, then decorate the walls to match it. Once the walls are painted, you can think about decorating them. One way to bring softness to the walls is to decorate using fabric.

1
Choose two fabrics that coordinate. You may want one solid color and one striped or patterned selection. Buy half a yard of the patterned fabric, and half a yard of the solid fabric.
-
2
Iron the fabric. Cut the patterned fabric to 15 by 18 inches.
-
-
3
Lay the patterned fabric right side down on a table. Place an 11-by 14-inch stretched canvas right side down in the middle of the fabric.
-
4
Pull one side of the fabric up over the stretcher bar, and staple it down in the middle of the bar. Do the same with the opposite side, and then do the same with the top and bottom.
-
5
Stretch the rest of the fabric and staple it down, leaving the corners for last.
-
6
Trim the fabric bulk away from the corners, leaving at least 2 inches to staple. Overlap the fabric and staple it down making a tight corner.
-
7
Cut the solid fabric into two 15-by18-inch pieces and repeat the stretching process on two more canvases.
-
8
Hang the canvases side by side in the order of solid, patterned, then solid.
