How to Make a Palm Tree Table Decoration
A pineapple palm tree display can be the conversation piece of a wedding reception, Hawaiian luau or any other event where you need to feed many guests. The colorful displays can feed dozens to hundreds, and will create a tropical theme that guests will remember. You can use the pineapple palm trees as a centerpiece or to adorn the buffet table.
Things You'll Need
- 4 pineapples
- Sharp knife
- 6-inch wooden skewers
- Fake palm fronds
- Toothpicks
- 1-by-1-inch squares of fresh fruit

Cut the tops and bottoms off four pineapples. Keep one top for later.

Use a sharp knife to hollow out the inside of the pineapples, removing 1-by-1-inch chunks of the fruit to use in the display. Leave at least 1 inch of fruit inside the walls of the pineapple shells.

Place the first pineapple on a table and insert four 6-inch wooden skewers into its top.

Set the second pineapple on top of the first by pressing down firmly on the skewers.

Insert four more skewers into the second pineapple and repeat the process to stack the third and fourth pineapples and secure them with skewers.

Top off the pineapple tree with one pineapple top.

Fill the top of the pineapple tree with fake palm fronds, inserting them at a 45-degree angle.

Cut fresh fruit into 1-by-1-inch squares. Combine strawberries, bananas, melons, pineapples and grapes for a colorful and tasty display. Use toothpicks to arrange the fruit at the base of the pineapple palm tree for guests to eat.

Tips & Warnings
Add marshmallows to the fruit mix.
Add caramel, chocolate and whipped cream dipping sauces for the fruit at the base of the pineapple palm tree.
Cover the base of the palm tree with a large blue table cloth to resemble water.
