Instructions

    • 1

Look to make sure the GE refrigerator is not unplugged if there is no power and the refrigerator is not operating. Plug the power cord in and replace or reset any fuses or circuit breakers that have blown or failed.

    • 2

Allow the defrost cycle 45 minutes to finish if there is power to the refrigerator but there is no cooling. The defrost cycle happens about once every 24 hours.

    • 3

Clean up any water spills in the freezer drawer if there is water leaking out of the icemaker mold. Leave the door shut for 4 hours or more to let the temperature lower back to ice making production mode.

    • 4

Push the freezer light switch, situated on the upper right corner of the freezer, if the ice maker light is not on but the ice maker switch is positioned to “I” (On). This turns the green power light on for the ice maker.

    • 5

Wait for the freezer door to close automatically if it pops open when the refrigerator door closes, which indicates a good refrigerator door seal. Adjust the rollers if the door does not close automatically. Remove the toe grille from the front of the refrigerator, and then use a screwdriver to turn the roller screws clockwise to tighten or counterclockwise to loosen the rollers. Continue adjustments until the door closes automatically. Adjust the rollers if the refrigerator is shaking or vibrating during use.

    • 6

Bring food items away from the vents in the refrigerator if food items are frozen. Turn the temperature control to a warmer setting.

    • 7

Keep an open box of baking soda in the refrigerator and make a cleaning paste of baking soda and water to clean interior surfaces if there is a bad smell inside the refrigerator. Discard the ice cubes in the freezer if the ice cubes smell bad and clean out the bin with soapy water, and then rinse well.

    • 8

Close the refrigerator door firmly if items inside are too warm or too cold. Using a damp cloth, wipe down the seal if needed because of dirt or debris. Adjust the temperature controls slightly to increase or decrease the temperature in the unit. Remember that putting a lot of food in the refrigerator, particularly hot or warm food, changes the temperature temporarily.
