You can make a knight costume out of a few recycled items.

A knight costume is an ideal solution for a costume party or Medieval-themed event. If you need a knight costume in a hurry, consider putting the outfit together using recycled items from your home. You can turn materials such as trash bags and old cardboard boxes into all the elements and accessories you need for a unique knight costume. Plus, it will cost you much less than purchasing a costume pre-made from a specialty shop.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut along the sides of a black garbage bag, so it is connected just by the bottom seam. Cut a hole from the bottom seam, making a space where you can put your head through, making a tunic. Wear the garbage bag tunic over a plain shirt and black pants.

    • 2

Cut a 3-foot long strip from an old T-shirt and tie the strip around your waist, making a belt around the tunic.

    • 3

Cut the front panel off a paper grocery bag. Spray the bag with a gray spray paint and let dry. Wear the bag on your head, with the cut-out panel facing forward, to create a helmet.

    • 4

Cut a 3-foot long strip from an old cardboard box, making the strip about 3 inches wide. Cut the end into a point and glue a small, 4-inch piece perpendicular at the top of the longer piece, making a sword. Push the sword through the belt around the tunic.
