How to Make Inexpensive Fruit Trays for a Baby Shower
You can save money while still stunning your shower guests. Decorating the tray for a baby shower and arranging it with seasonal fruit can save you money compared to store-bought trays filled with exotic fruits. Apples, bananas and oranges are readily available in most supermarkets and can be found year round. Use seasonal fruits instead if the fruits are cheaper and of high quality. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 4 Whole apples
- 4 Bananas
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 4 Seedless oranges or tangerines
- Baby sippy cup
- Vanilla flavored yogurt
- Serving platter
- Toothpicks
- New pacifiers, rattles and baby blocks

Core and slice four apples into wedges, leaving the peel intact.

Peel and slice four bananas into rounds.

Toss the apple and banana slices in lemon juice to coat the fruit and prevent browning.

Peel four seedless oranges and separate into segments.

Center a sippy cup in the center of a serving platter and fill it with vanilla yogurt for dipping the fruit.

Arrange the apple wedges in a circle around the sippy cup in the center of the platter.

Place the banana slices in a circle around the apples. Insert a toothpick into each banana slice for guests to pick up the banana bites.

Lay a circle of the orange segments outside the circle of bananas around the serving platter.

Fill in spaces on the platter with new pacifiers, rattles and baby blocks as an alternative to parsley garnishes and to double as gifts for the mother-to-be.
