How to Avoid Curling on a Knifty Knitter Loom
Knifty Knitting looms are available in circles, rectangles and organic shapes. These three shapes provide a crafter the option of making tubular or flat panels. Curling is a problem with each loom if not used correctly. The curled edge prevents an edge from flattening. Correct the curled edge problem by making the first two rows of stitching opposite of one another - knit the first row and purl the second.

1
Position the Knifty knitter on a flat work surface. Turn the loom so the horizontal tie-off peg is pointing toward you.
-
2
Tie a slipknot approximately 2 inches from the end of the yarn. Place the slipknot over the first peg to the left of the tie-off peg.
-
-
3
E-wrap each peg so two loops are visible on the peg. An E-wrap is completed by wrapping the yarn from the back of the peg, around the left side, across the front and across the back of the peg toward the next peg to the left.
-
4
Insert the Knifty knitter loom hook between the two loops, down the groove and through the bottom loop. Pull the bottom loop over the top loop. Repeat the process around the loom.
-
5
E-wrap each peg once.
-
6
Push the two loops on the shaft up so they are on the top half of the peg.
-
7
Slide the loom hook under the bottom loop and up the groove. Turn the tip and insert it through the top of the top loop.
-
8
Pull the top loop down and through the bottom loop. Keep the loop on your knitter loom hook.
-
9
Pull the bottom loop over the top of the peg. Slide the loop on the knitter loom back on the peg. Repeat Steps 7-9 around the loom.
-
10
Push the loops down on the bottom half of each peg. E-wrap each peg. Repeat Step 4 for the remainder of the loom pattern.
