How to Make a Jellyfish From Yarn
Yarn offers the softness and comfort of fabric with affordability. Simple, acrylic yarn is no longer just for crochet and knitting projects, but can be utilized to make festive children's crafts as well. The tentacles of a jellyfish are mimicked in this inventive craft project that can be hung from the ceiling or the roof of your porch. Have fun watching the tentacles wave in the breeze.

1
Cut out about 30 pieces of yarn measuring 20 to 24 inches long. The more strips you cut the more voluminous the body of the jellyfish will be. Cut a final piece of yarn measuring about 12 inches long and set this piece aside.

2
Crumple a facial tissue into a ball. Place a ring of glue on one side of the tissue paper ball matching the diameter of your plastic button. Press the facial tissue onto the button and hold in place for a few seconds to ensure the items have bonded.

3
Grab two or three of the 24-inch-long pieces of yarn at their center so the ends match up. Place the center of the strands over the top of the facial tissue button. Wrap the top of the yarn strands around the top of the tissue and around the sides of the button. Pinch the ends together with your index finger and thumb underneath the button. Keep in place by clipping the yarn fibers with an alligator clip.

4
Grab another few strands of yarn. Drape these pieces over the top of the tissue but at a slightly skewed angle from the first set of yarn strands. Clip underneath the button. Continue draping and clipping the pieces of yarn in place until the facial tissue is no longer visible.

5
Tie the yarn strands in place together with the 12-inch piece of yarn, just above the alligator clip. Remove the alligator clip. Bring the two ends of the connecting piece of yarn up and around the head of the jellyfish. Tie a double knot at the top of the head with these two ends. Tie another knot at the very tip of the yarn ends to create a loop for hanging.
