How to Get the Frog Balloon in "Diddy Kong Racing"
"Diddy Kong Racing" is a racing adventure game for the Nintendo 64. Players battle to save the world from an invading alien wizard named Wizpig. The frogs and balloons in the game help you unlock additional levels, special items, and characters. Although there is no special frog balloon, there is a special frog that you can only reach by capturing balloons. Doing so unlocks the character Diddy, who Wizpig had kidnapped.

Capture four trophies. Get access to winning a trophy by defeating an arena's boss. This unlocks a trophy race competition. Come in first, second, or third to win a gold, silver, or bronze trophy, it doesn't matter which for the purpose of getting to the frog that unlocks Diddy, the second-fastest racer in the game.

Get 37 gold balloons. Gold balloons are rewarded when you win a race. Some arenas reward more balloons than others for winning the race. For example, Treasure Caves has 16 gold balloons whereas Fossil Canyon only has two.

Go to the frog island near Taj's tent. Look for a frog with red feathers in his head. Run over this frog with your kart. Doing so reveals Diddy, who had been turned into a frog by Wizpig.
