How to Clean the Frigidaire Classic Series Oven
The Frigidaire Classic Series oven comes in both gas and electric models and offers fairly standard cooking and baking options. Some of the models are self cleaning and others are manual clean only. Regardless of the type of cleaning option available, regular cleaning will help prevent excess smoking, burning or odor in the oven and may help keep the oven working well. Does this Spark an idea?

- Mild abrasive household cleaner
- Olive oil or baby oil
- Wax paper
Instructions

Self Cleaning Models
-
1
Take all oven racks, cookware, utensils and aluminum foil out of the oven.
-
2
Wipe down the inside of the Frigidaire oven using hot, soapy water and a clean sponge or cloth and remove excess food debris or any residue with sugar or acid content, as these substances can burn and leave spots on the oven interior during cleaning. Wipe the oven frame and the oven door as well, but avoid the door gasket.
-
-
3
Shut the oven door and touch “Clean” until “- - -“ shows in the display. Use the up or down arrows to select the desired cleaning time, choosing more time for more heavily soiled ovens or less time for less heavily soiled ovens.
-
4
Wait for “CLn” to display and the door to lock automatically. Leave the oven alone while cleaning and do not touch the oven, as the interior temperature will be extremely hot.
-
5
Leave the oven alone until the “Lock” indicator light goes out, usually around one hour after the cleaning is complete, which allows the oven time to cool.
-
6
Open the oven door and use a clean, damp cloth to clean away any residue or ash inside the oven before use.
Manual Clean Models
-
7
Mix dishwashing liquid with hot water to create a cleaning solution.
-
8
Use a cleaning sponge without harsh steel pads or wool with the soapy cleaning solution to clean the interior of the oven, removing all food spills, residue or debris. Clean the oven door as well, but do not clean the gasket.
-
9
Rinse a clean cloth in clear water and use it to wipe away any soap residue.
-
10
Remove the oven racks and set the racks in the kitchen sink. Use hot soapy water or a mildly abrasive household cleaner to scrub the racks clean. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a towel. Apply a small amount of olive oil or baby oil to a clean, soft cloth and rub the rack sides with the oil. Wax paper can also be used to oil the rack sides.
