How to Download RSync OpenSUSE From an FTP Site

Rsync, a Linux software program that lets you sync files between two or more Linux servers, may not be installed by default on OpenSUSE. However, you can get it by downloading the latest version from an FTP repository. This process is performed by running the YaST installation software program, which installs the latest version of Rsync from OpenSUSE's FTP repositories.

Instructions

1. Log in to your OpenSUSE computer.

2. Type "su" into a Terminal, then press "Enter."

3. Type in your password (when requested) and then press "Enter" again.

4. Type "yast2" and wait for the YaST window to open.

5. Type "Rsync" in the search box, press "Enter" then click on the check box next to the "Rsync" program that appears in the search results.

6. Click "Apply changes" and wait while YaST downloads and installs the latest Rsync from the OpenSUSE FTP repositories.
