How to Arrange a Cake Table for a 50th Anniversary

Gold accessories tie the cake table into the theme of a golden anniversary.

Create a memorable celebration for the once-in-a-lifetime event of a 50th anniversary. The cake table should resemble the arrangement of the cake table from the couple's wedding, but because the 50th is the golden anniversary, incorporate a golden theme into the table's décor. Pictures of the couple on their wedding day and at their anniversary will bring back memories of their years together as a married couple. Keep the arrangement simple to avoid cluttering the table. This facilitates cutting and serving of the cake.

Things You'll Need

• White tablecloth
• Gold handkerchief
• Decorated anniversary cake
• Cake server
• Basket with gold bow
• White cloth napkin
• Forks
• Cake plates
• Framed wedding photograph of couple
• Framed current photograph of couple

Instructions

1. Cover the table with a white tablecloth.

2. Top the tablecloth with a gold handkerchief laid at a 45 degree angle to the white tablecloth. The handkerchief should drape half as far down the sides of the table as the tablecloth to give a layered look to the table.

3. Set the decorated cake in the center of the table with the cake server on the right side of it if the person cutting the cake is right-handed or on the left for someone who is left-handed.

4. Line the basket with a golden bow, with a white cloth napkin and fill the basket with the forks for eating the cake. Set the basket to the left of the cake on the far end of the cake table.

5. Stack the cake plates on the right side of the table. The guests can thenmove down to the left side of the table to pick up a fork.

6. Set the two framed photographs of the couple at opposite corners at the back of the table so they can still be seen but will not be knocked over as guests get their cake.

Tips & Warnings

• Opt for gilded picture frames, cake plates with gilded edges and gold-colored utensils for the cake table to enhance the golden anniversary theme.

• Use a replica or the actual cake topper from the couple's wedding cake for the decorated 50th anniversary cake.
