How to Add Graphics That Move to Facebook

Facebook not only allows users to share their thoughts, but it also allows them to share their media files. In particular, you can share videos, pictures and even animated pictures. The key to sharing the latter lies in placement. Animated pictures cannot simply be uploaded to an album because a combination of millions of simultaneously running animation loops would crash the server. However, by using Facebook's integrated "Notes" platform, you can share as many graphics that move as you would like.

Instructions

    • 1

Upload the picture to a publicly available server. The easiest way to do this is by uploading the image to your own website server. If you do not have your own website, then consider using a free public image hosting service such as Flickr, Image Cabin or Photo Bucket.

    • 2

Identify the URL of the image. If you uploaded the image BarkingDog.gif to your website's public directory, and if your website's URL was www.DogShop.com, the URL of the image would be http://www.DogShop.com/BarkingDog.gif. If you use a service such as Flickr, then review the service's documentation to identify the URL. In general, Flickr image URLs are in the form http://www.flickr.com/photos/{user-id}/{photo-id}.

    • 3

Log into Facebook, access your profile page and click the "Notes" button underneath your picture. Select the "Write a note" option in the upper right corner.

    • 4

Type a title for your note and then insert the picture into the note's body by using the code , where URL refers to the URL of the picture. To add BarkingDog.gif to your site, for instance, type .
