How to Decorate Sunday School Class Doors
Your classroom door tells parents, students and newcomers a lot about your teaching style, and is the first thing seen by Sunday school students arriving for lessons. Your door may show an upcoming holiday, a changing season or a lengthy lesson you are teaching your students. Showcase Bible verses, artwork and crafts with your Sunday school class door. A nicely done door invites students to enter the learning area and work on a personal relationship with God.

1
Post the teacher's name and the grade or age group of the Sunday school class on the door. Since churches often have visitors, newcomers need to know where to bring their kids for Sunday school. Use a cutout of a tree and add a "name leaf" for each student in the classroom.

2
Create a theme for your classroom door. If you are studying about Noah's Ark, tape a long sheet of brown construction paper to the door to signify the ramp to the ark. Place cutout, colored animals on the ramp. Let each student color and cut out two of the chosen animal.

Decorate your door for each religious holiday. Incorporate poetry, Bible verses and completed craft activities onto your door to display what your students are learning about each holiday.

4
Make a decoration for each season. As each season changes, incorporate a Bible verse to accompany the time of year. Show off what your students achieve each season by hanging artwork on your door.

Tips & Warnings
Take a vote in older Sunday school classrooms. Ask your students what they want to display to church families and newcomers. Your door is the first thing existing and new families see when coming to Sunday school.
