How to Make a Double-Strand Bracelet on a Stretch Cord
Making your own jewelry gives you the flexibility to create a one-of-a-kind design that will match the outfit you are pairing it with. With just a few easy steps, you can forget about running from store to store looking for the perfect jewelry piece and create a beautiful double-stranded bracelet that you can show off with pride because you made it yourself.

1
Determine the size of the bracelet you want to make. Measure your wrist and add an additional 3 inches to the measurement. This will account for the beads as well as extra cord to work with while making your bracelet. Cut two pieces of cord to this measurement.
-
2
Lay out your bead pattern on a flat surface. Because you are using two strands and double-stranded beads, lay the single beads in two rows with the double bead in its place.

3
Place your bead stopper on one end of each strand of cord. Beginning with the first strand, start adding beads from your pattern until that cord is complete. Place a bead stopper on that end so you can begin working on the other strand without losing the beads. Repeat the same pattern on the second cord, threading through the double bead when you get to it in the pattern. Once the pattern is complete you need to place a bead stopper on the end of the cord to keep beads in place.

4
Lay your bracelet on a flat surface and make sure that both strands are lined up and everything is in place. Remove the bead stoppers from one strand and tie the ends together, being sure to tie a tight knot. Repeat this with the second strand.
-
5
Place a small drop of jewelry glue on each knot and allow them to dry. For extra security, you can tie an additional knot and glue it as well. Once the glue is dry, your new piece of jewelry is ready to show off.
