How to Fish a Shark in "Sims Castaway"
"The Sims 2: Castaway" takes your Sim out of the city life to which she has become accustomed and dumps her unceremoniously on a desert island. It is your job, as in all the other Sim games, to help your Sim survive and thrive in her environment, while at the same time helping her accomplish the various goals she sets for herself. One of the goals your Sim will eventually come up with is the desire to flirt with death by catching a tiger shark. This can only be accomplished later in the game when you have unlocked the third island and have access to a bamboo fishing pole.

Build a bamboo fishing pole at your Workbench. The standard wooden fishing pole is not strong enough to haul up a shark.

Go to the Ancient Theater, click the cliff, and select the "Cliff Dive" option. You Sim will take a header off the cliff and wind up in the Tide Pool area.

Equip your bamboo rod and cast your line into the deep water portion of the Tide Pool.

Wait for the little red bobber to sink beneath the surface. Press the "X" button as soon as the bobber disappears to reel in whatever fish might be on the line.

Continue fishing in this manner until you haul up a shark.
