Instructions

    • 1

Mix your desired sugar cookie recipe according to the directions.

    • 2

Roll out the dough fairly thick (up to 1/2 an inch.) Use the cookie cutter of your choice to cut out the shapes. Place each cookie on a baking sheet an inch or two apart so they don't stick together when they spread and bake.

    • 3

Carefully insert a stick into the bottom of each cookie, making sure it is encased in the middle. Bake the cookies according to the recipe directions. Remove the cookies carefully from the pan and allow them to cool individually on a cooling rack until they are at least room temperature.

    • 4

Select a recipe for an icing that will harden, such as royal icing, and decorate the cookies in the color and style of your choice. Allow the icing to become fully hardened before moving the cookies.

    • 5

Insert each cookie into a small cellophane bag and tie it at the base with a decorative ribbon. The bags will allow you to see the cookies while keeping them separate from each other. Carefully poke the end of the sticks into a block of floral foam in a vase to display.

Tips & Warnings

  • Using an icing that hardens will keep the cookies from sticking to each other or the inside of the cellophane bag.

  • Lollipop sticks, small cellophane bags and floral foam can all be found at your local craft store.
