      Hit the shoes' soles against one another to remove any loose dirt and mud. Dampen a microfiber cloth and wipe of the leather or patent leather shoes to loosen the mud and dirt further.

      Wet a microfiber cloth with Windex. Wipe down the entire surface of the shoe with the cloth, including to the soles and under the tongue. Apply pressure to remove any difficult stains.

      Allow the Windex to remain for three to four minutes before buffing the shoes with a dry microfiber cloth to restore the leather’s shine.
