How to Make a Heat Gel
Creating a hot homemade gel is a wise way to enhance your hair. Use several household products to complete your gel recipe in a matter of minutes. While standard hair gels are available for purchase at your local salon or beauty product store, including two or three drops of lavender to your mixture gives the gel is own soothing scent. Things You'll Need
- 2 tbsp. flaxseed
- 1 cup water
- Pot
- Colander
- 8 oz. plastic squeeze bottle
- 2 or 3 drops of lavender oil
- Towel (optional)

Combine two tablespoons of flaxseed and one cup of water in an oven-safe pot.

Boil the mixture. Allow five to eight minutes for it to cool until it's hot or warm--not boiling.

Strain the hot mixture through a colander and into an eight-ounce plastic squeeze bottle.

Add two or three drops of lavender oil--or any other oil fragrance--to the hot or warm mixture. Secure the lid to the squeeze bottle.

Lubricate your hair with the hot or warm gel. Wrap your head in a towel for five to 10 minutes, if you like, to retain the heat until the gel dries.
