How to Get Rid of Worms in House Plants

Houseplants add a tranquil touch to the home.

Houseplants can often fall victim to small worms that eat at both the plant and its roots beneath the soil. While they can cause serious damage, the worms are noticeable and if you act quickly, you can save your houseplant quite easily using a combination of pre-made insecticide and a few household ingredients. The insecticide will kill existing worms and the household ingredients will keep them away in the future.

Things You'll Need

• Insecticidal soap
• Hot pepper sauce
• Black ground pepper

Instructions

1. Remove any visible worms above the surface of the houseplant with your fingers.

2. Add 1 tsp. hot pepper sauce into a container of insecticidal soap.

3. Pour the insecticidal soap into the soil of the houseplant, using the amount indicated on the container's label.

4. Sprinkle 1 tsp. ground black pepper over the surface of the soil.
