Instructions

    • 1

Take apart the mug. These mugs come pre-assembled when you purchase them from the craft store. Most of the time they are made out of clear, hollow plastic and come with a paper or cardboard insert. Take the paper out of the mug and uncurl it on the table. You may need to hold down the ends temporarily with your paper weights.

    • 2

Create your design on the insert. Use your crayons, stickers, photos and any other decorative items you like to customize your mug. Be creative. One method is to secure a picture to the center of the paper and use your accessories to decorate it.

    • 3

Allow your travel mug insert to thoroughly dry. Make sure all of your pieces and accessories are secure and leave your paper weights on the insert. Leave the paper alone and allow it to dry for at least 30 minutes and then remove the paper weights.

    • 4

Wash your travel mug. The mug itself is made completely out of plastic components which can get dirty during manufacturing, shipping and storing.

    • 5

Reassemble your mug. Make sure your travel mug insert is completely dry and curl it into a tube around the base of the mug. Secure the top and bottom of the tube along the seam with tape. Take the outside portion of the mug and slide it back into place. Fasten the mug together by twisting the bottom into place.

Tips & Warnings

  • Holding the insert down with weights as you decorate and dry will keep the paper from warping as it dries and your accessories from popping off.

  • Although the plastic mugs are supposed to be waterproof, in time the cups can wear out. If you start to see the ink and/or accessories on the insert start to fade, discontinue use of the mug.
